The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally lodged a complaint with broadcaster Sky Sports following an on-air interview conducted by former England captain Michael Atherton during the second Test at Lord’s.
Atherton interviewed Suleiman and Kasim Khan, the sons of incarcerated former Pakistan captain and prime minister Imran Khan, discussing their father’s health, safety, and lack of access to medical care. The PCB objected to the inclusion of political commentary during live broadcast coverage of the international Test match, raising concerns before the segment was aired.
Reports indicate the PCB warned of potential player promotional boycotts or formal diplomatic protests if non-cricketing political matters continue to feature in official match-day television packages. Sky Sports has not removed the preview from its digital platforms, and the PCB has signaled it will evaluate further action alongside the International Cricket Council (ICC).
